Prayer for Peace and Reconciliation \u2013 from Korea<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God of mercy and justice, You have formed us to live in communion, and yet our world remains fractured by walls of division and fear. Here on the Korean Peninsula, we still bear the scars of war and separation, longing for the day when swords will be turned into plowshares, and neighbors will embrace across borders.<\/p>\n\n\n

We remember those who, in the darkest of times, raised their voices for freedom and dignity. We give thanks for the global ecumenical community who stood in solidarity and accompanied us in our struggle. Their presence became a seed of peace, growing into relationships rooted in hope and trust.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cBlessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.\u201d (Matthew 5:9)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord, may this promise sustain us. As a woman, a pastor, and a peace advocate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I give thanks for the ongoing partnership between Korean churches and our friends in the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). May our shared prayers and ministries continue to nurture the vision of a reconciled and just world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lead us in your peace, O God, until we meet as one body, in your boundless love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission Moment from Korea<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Journey Rooted in Faith, Carried by Solidarity<\/p>\n\n\n

As a Korean woman pastor in my thirties, formed in the ecumenical spirit of the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK), I have served in various ministries within the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK), including the Human Rights Center and the international affairs office. I now coordinate NCCK\u2019s domestic and global peace and solidarity efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My call to ministry was shaped not in silence but in resistance, candlelight vigils, human rights campaigns, and prayerful witness alongside the poor and the excluded. It was here, in this lived theology of justice and reconciliation, that I found my voice.<\/p>\n\n\n

This journey has never been mine alone. The long-standing companionship of churches like the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ has been vital to this pilgrimage. Your solidarity has encouraged, embraced, and walked alongside us in our journey toward peace and dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, we are part of a movement that refuses to separate peace from justice, or faith from action. Through our partnership, we have nurtured sacred space for voices long silenced, both in Korea and beyond. My life and leadership are living testimonies to what can flourish when churches walk together in hope.<\/p>\n\n\n
