Prayers for Afghanistan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this Advent season, we are reminded of the joy and hope that Mary felt as she carried Your promise, Jesus, into a world in need. Like Elizabeth who exclaimed in wonder at Your faithfulness (Luke 1:39-45), we too lift our hearts in gratitude for the hope You bring, even to places burdened by struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord, we pray for Afghanistan, a nation You hold in Your hands. We lift up the people we serve there, whose resilience mirrors the faith of those who awaited Your arrival. May they feel Your nearness, the peace that surpasses understanding, and the assurance that You are at work, even in the darkest of times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We pray for our partner in Afghanistan, whose labor reflects Your love. Grant them strength, courage, and wisdom to bring hope to those they touch. Protect them and let their work bear fruit that honors You.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this season of expectation, may Afghanistan experience glimpses of Your kingdom\u2014justice, mercy, and healing. Fill hearts with the same joy that Mary carried, as we await Your promise of restoration and peace for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Jesus\u2019 name, Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission Moment from Afghanistan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farzana, a 25-year-old from Afghanistan, faced profound challenges. Her father, Hamidullah, lost his leg in a roadside explosion and struggled to support their family as a shoemaker. Poverty consumed their lives, forcing Farzana, the eldest of five siblings, to shoulder heavy responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ashamed of her circumstances, Farzana withdrew from social gatherings, isolating herself as she battled depression. She often lost sleep and struggled with suicidal thoughts, haunted by her family\u2019s struggles, including her brother Omar’s inability to afford university despite passing his entrance exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A neighbor introduced Farzana to our partner’s community Mental Health Center. With therapy, medication, and counseling, Farzana began to heal. Through mental health workshops and vocational training provided by the program, Farzana developed tailoring skills, received a sewing machine, and launched her business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Farzana supports her family and funds Omar\u2019s education. Her mental health has improved, and she has become a community advocate, joining the local shura to assist others facing similar struggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am happy to support my family and help others,\u201d Farzana shares. Her transformation is a testament to the vital work of our partner in Afghanistan, offering hope and dignity to those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
