Compassionate and merciful God,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this sacred gathering, we turn our hearts to the words of Mark 1:21-28, where we are reminded of Jesus’ divine authority. In a world marked by turmoil and uncertainty, we seek your guidance and compassionate strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We uplift those who have known the hardships of displacement, the wanderers, and seekers of refuge before you in prayer. Grant solace and hope to those displaced, especially the children who bear this weight of uncertainty. May our efforts reflect your divine justice and mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n

Lord, we pray for a world where those seeking refuge find open minds and loving hearts, transcending borders and divisions. Instill in us a commitment to justice, peace, and understanding that we may your outstretched arms, instruments of your radical love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this moment, we ask for your wisdom and strength as we navigate the complexities of serving vulnerable communities in tumultuous times. May the seeds of empathy and compassion flourish in this new year, fostering a community where all, the uprooted and dispossessed, are seen, heard, uplifted, and valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission Moment from Hungary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the Advent season, the Refugee Ministry of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid transformed into a place where children’s laughter and the clamor of fellowship echoed through the halls of our community center. In December, our community center hosted two events to bring our community together to celebrate the Advent season. In addition to these gatherings, the children involved in these programs spent weeks diligently planning a drama performance in their weekly drama and theatre workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n

Children and adults joined in special Christmas events, their faces painted, literally and figuratively, with proof of their excitement and the joy of the season. They decorated ornaments and crafted gingerbread houses, creating art that mirrored our community’s diversity. Among the program’s activities, a clown brought smiles, and the spotlight shone on a drama program conceived by the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Christmas season, we celebrate intangible gifts: unity, understanding, and shared experiences. The seeds of compassion planted in the hearts of these children reflect the spirit of a community that embraces diversity. Together, with the support of each other and this community, we nurture these seeds, fostering a space where every child is an integral part of a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
