Discover Islam is making this DVD set available free of charge<\/a>, and is quite willing to extend this offer to any (and all) local congregations that request it.<\/p>\n

The 2011 General Synod adopted a resolution, \u201cOn Actions of Hostility Against Islam and the Muslim Community<\/a><\/strong>.” The second \u201cresolved\u201d clause of that resolution states, \u201cBe it further resolved that the General Synod encourages all settings of the United Church of Christ to seek ways to learn more about Islam, to engage in relationships with Muslims, and to invite other ecumenical and inter-faith bodies to join with us in this effort.\u201d<\/p>\n

One way that United Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) members and churches can learn more about Islam is through educational resources, such as the resource available through the Discover Islam foundation<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Discover Islam has offered to provide, free of charge, a new DVD set called \u201cDiscover Islam: Documentary Films\u201d to various settings of the UCC and Disciples.\u00a0 The DVD set includes six half-hour programs, as follows:<\/p>\n
