The Evangelical Congregational Church of Angola (IECA) shares the sad news of the passing of The Reverend Henriques Etaungo Daniel on October 24, 2019, at the age of 86.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rev. Daniels served as the third General Secretary of IECA, between 1977 and 1983. The Reverend Andr\u00e9 Cangovi Eurico, current General Secretary of ICEA, described Rev. Daniel as \u201can outstanding and committed leader, very courageous who took it up the task to reorganize the Church [IECA] when the then leadership of the Church was forced into the hiding because of war in 1977.\u201d Rev. Daniel worked in various local parishes in Huambo, Bie, and Luanda. He was an ecumenical promoter being one of those who, with other Christian leaders, mainly Methodist, Baptist, Reformed, Assembly of God, Mennonite, WYCM, Kimbanguist, and Evangelical Church In Angola assisted in the founding of the Angolan Evangelical Council of Churches in February of 1977. He was buried on October 28, 2019.\u00a0 He was proceeded in death by his wife and daughter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
